GENERAL NEWS, SIR!

AS SEEN ON TV!!

Please check out the segment of me on my local channel KARE-11 talking about my books and young adult fiction on Showcase Minnesota

GoH(s)

I'll be a secondary guest of honor at THREE up-coming, local science fiction conventions. Officially, I've been invited to represent my science fiction writing alter ego, Lyda Morehouse, but, of course, all fans of Tate are welcome! Chronologically, they will be Diversicon, CONvergence and Gaylaxicon.

Diversicon 19 is next weekend, folks! It will be held on July 29-31, 2011. My honored co-guests are: David G. Hartwell (senior editor, Tor books) and John C. Rezmerski (poet extraordinaire). The posthumous guests of honor are C.L. Moore and Vincent Price. The convention will be held at Best Western—Bandana Square, 1010 W Bandana Blvd, St. Paul, MN 55108-5107.(651) 647-1637. You can follow along either at their website www.diversicon.org or at their Facebook Page. If you've never been to Diversicon they describe themselves as "a serious, nerdy, SF/Fantasy convention." Makes you want to sign right up, don't it? Diveriscon is a longtime favorite of mine, so I hope you'll join me!!

Though they asked first, CONvergence is planning to have me as one of their honored guests for 2012, specifically July 5 - 8, 2012. Their Website is www.convergence-con.org, but, currently if you want news of the upcoming con, check out CONvergence News. My fellow guests include: Sophie Aldred (Dr. Who actress), Sharyn November (editor), Tamora Peirce (author), Ruth Thompson (artist), Jennifer Clarke Wilkes (game designer). The theme for 2012 is "Wonder Women," and they describe themselves as "an annual convention for fans of science fiction and fantasy in all media, held each July." This is a 4-day event, so I should start catching up on my sleep now (perhaps that's why they ask their GoHs _so_ much earlier than most, eh?)

Last, but certainly not least, GaylaxiCON invited me to take part in their 2012 convention as well. On the weekend of October 5-7, 2012, I'll be guest of honoring alongside Gary Russell (writer and producer), Wendy Pini (artist), Kyell Gold (furry writer), PRISIM comics and SofaWolf Press. The convention will be held at Doubltree Hotel Minneapolis-Park Place (the same place they were in 2009, if you attended then). In a fan grrl squee moment I have to say I was a total fan of the Pini's Elfquest as a teen.

BOOK NEWS:
NEW PROJECT!!

I'm currently hard at work on the first book of what will hopefully be a new adult series. It's called Precinct 13 and I've been describing as CSI/X-Files meets urban fantasy (and cow mutlation mystery!) I'm still in early stages yet, so I can't tell you much about it. But look for it sometime in 2012. Also, Ana #3, Almost Everyghing will be coming out in February 2012, so mark your calendars! I'll have an excerpt for you to read as soon as I can.

NEW EDITION (PART 1)!!

For all you Garnet Lacey fans out there, here's some good news. I heard from my publisher that Berkley Sensation will be putting out a mass-market paperback edition of Tall, Dark & Dead! Whoot! It's scheduled to hit the shelves in April of 2012!

NEW EDITION (PART 2)!!

German Cover art for TDD For.

As you know, Bob, I sold rights to my books to a German publisher. I just got news today that they will be re-titling my books, as the play on words didn't work in German. The first book, originally TALL, DARK & DEAD will be NICHT SCHON WIEDER EIN VAMPIR (Not Another Vampire) and the second will be, BEISS NOCH EINMAL MIT GEFUEHL (Bite Once More, With Feeling!)

If you would like to order a copy, you can find it on Amazon.de.
