Here are some scenes that got cut from FROM THE DARK. After cutting excerpts from a story that, at the time, causes you great pain (because as writers I believe we fall in love with our own words) I can look back and go 'yep, that didn't need to be in there'.
But there were a few things I was bummed about having to cut, either to make the story flow better, or to simply reduce my word count. (The Nocturne line is 70-75K words. I clocked in originally at 85K. So I had a few words to cut.) Also, some scenes just didn't work to move the plot forward, but I thought it would be fun to post them here. If you've read FROM THE DARK, it may be interesting to see how some scenes evolved, or to read what ended up 'on the cutting room floor'.
