Care for your Tree:
1. If you must store your tree prior to putting it up, store your tree in a cool damp place, out of the wind and sun to prevent it from drying out.
2. When the trunk is cut and exposed to the air it heals over in just a few hours and plugs up the trees ability to take up water. Cut at least ¼" off the trunk just before placing the tree in the stand.
3. The first time you fill the stand, use hot water. This opens up the trees water passages to allow it to absorb as much water as possible. Keep water in the stand at all times to prevent the trunk from healing over. A seven foot tall tree can absorb as much as a gallon of water a day.
4. The use of a tree stand with a large water capacity or the use of a 2 liter bottle tree fountain can make this much easier. A tip for the 2 liter bottle fountain is to leave the cap on the bottle and drill a ¼" hole in it. This makes putting the bottle back in the fountain much less messy.
5. Do not place your tree next to a fireplace, heat register or in direct sunlight.

History of our farm:
Started in 1992 by Terry Jacobson and Mike Sellers, but now run only by the Jacobson family. Terry, Christy, Steve and Val. And of course a special thanks to our friends who have helped us over the years. We have planted a total of 41,000 trees. We hand prune the trees every year to give you a full and attractive tree. These trees have been grown solely for your enjoyment. You may notice that some of the trees are colored. This is because pines naturally brown in winter and some people like the darker greener trees. But, I am sure, that those of you who don't want a colored tree can find one. Comments are always welcome. We want to know about ways we can help to improve your experience.
