This Photo is facing east, downstream, and obviously towards downtown Minneapolis. The tunnel inlet grate is visible about a block away. This grate is the inlet to the huge concrete storm sewer in which Bassett Creek flows for its last mile and a half. The creek runs in this tunnel beneath downtown Minneapolis before entering into the Mississippi River near St. Anthony Falls and the Stone Arch Bridge. This Photo was taken approximately three blocks south of the intersection of Glenwood Avenue and Emerson Avenue North.
