Mother and son volunteering at the Bassett Creek cleanup under the Penn Avenue bridge over the creek and railroad tracks. This photo is facing south-west and the creek is barely visible in the lower left. The railing is along the east end of a large concrete box culvert through which the creek flows for about 70 feet. Evidently, at one time this was the crossing for Penn Avenue to cross the creek. The roadway over the box culvert has been long abandoned but is now much used by pedestrians. (Photo by D. Stack)
