MANITUTANKA SHIPYARDS (TH5)

NOTE: On some SSDs the fighter/shuttles have shaded boxes, these represent the crippled the status of the fighter/shuttle.
NOTE: On some SSDs the crew check-off boxes have a 'B' or 'D' in them, these represent the crew units that are Boarding Parties or Deck Crews.
NOTE: All Manitutanka ships can land and take off from a planet using all landing systems.

The Manitutanka are a canine race. Before being conquered by the Tholians, the Manitutanka packs had built up a large fleet and controlled a large region of space. War with the Tholians cost them their homeworld, but their nomadic existence kept them independant. After a number of years, the Manitutanka contacted the Tartelles, and Wicasa, joining the rebel alliance against the Tholians. They eventually overcame the Tholians, only to be dominated by their Seltorain allies, with the help of the Symbiote. When the Selts sent half their fleet in search of Tholians, the Alliance struck, destroying the Symbiote fleet and defeated the remaining Selts.

The Manitutanka have a clan form of government, with each clan (or pack) being equal to each other. Prolific breeders, they never had a shortage of people to draw on. In fact, many Manitutanka served on other Alliance ships as volunteers.

Manitutanka ships are highly maneuverable. With their rapid fire Electron Cannons, the Manitutanka ships would try to close and rapidly pound their way through an opponents shields. All Manitutanka ships use
heavy and light blasters instead of phasers on their ships along with Electron Cannons. The blasters use the same rules as phasers, but have a different chart (they fire as bolts as opposed to beams).

Manitutanka ships tend to fight in packs. To reflect this, an alliance (or Mantitutanka) player can designate that the Manitutanka ships are in a pack formation. To do this, the largest ship must be designated as the Manitutanka flagship. When in a pack, the other Manitutanka ships count as 1/2 ship for command limits. If the Manitutanka ships are in a pack formation, and the Manitutanka flagship is destroyed or disengages, then ALL of the Manitutanka ships must immediately disengage. The identity of the Manitutanka  flagship is kept secret at all times. If not fighting in pack formation, Manitutanka ships are treated normally.

TH501 LIGHT CRUISER (CL) This was a very commonly seen Manitutanka ship. Each pack operated several of these, and being the largest Manitutanka ship, it was most often the flagship of a pack.

(TH508) SURVEY CRUISER (GSC) A very rare variant of the CL, it was introduced to seek out planets for colonization and natural resources during the war against the Tholians. This ship primarily operated alone. Rarely it was used in combat as a heavy scout.

TH502 DESTROYER (DD) This (along with the FF) was one of the most widely seen Manitutanka ships. Occasionally serving as a flagship, its prime role was to get close to an enemy ship and wear it down with its blasters and cannons.

TH505 SCOUT (SC) A variant of the DD, it was introduced to provide electronic support to the packs.

TH503 FRIGATE (FF) This (along with the DD) was one of the most heavily produced Manitutanka ships, the main combat ship in the pack, its prime role was to get close to an enemy ship and wear it down with its blasters and cannons.

TH506 LIGHT SCOUT (LSC) A variant of the FF, it was introduced to provide electronic support to the packs. More common than the HSC.

TH504 GUNBOAT (GB) This small ship was the most common of all Manitutanka ships. It was often used within the pack like a fighter.

TH507 CORVETTE (COR) This ship is a rare variant of the gunboat. It replaces 2 Kinetic cannons with heavy blasters.
