The Lost Hydrans
During the War of Infamy, a Hydran Squadron Commander, cut off from the Lost Colonies and the Hydran capitol by the Klingons and Lyrans, gathered every ship he could find. In them he packed every Hydran he could find and fled into deep space. They fled for 20 years before finding a uninhabited solar system that could support them. Here they settled down to begin a new life, always wary of being found by the Klingons or Lyrans. In Y126, they began modernizing their ships, replacing the Nova Cannons with the new Hellfire Cannon they developed. By Y155, all of the surviving ships (1 CC, 2 CA, 2 CL, 3 DD and 6 FF) had been modernized. Many of the freighters that brought them here were also converted into warships. Here they led a peaceful life, only having to destroy an occasional Orion that would wander into their space. Finally, in Y174, the Hydran survey cruiser "Devotion" found them and and after a brief skirmish, established contact. The fleet once again went through a series of refits before going into action against the Klingo-Lyran firewall bases. The last of the original Lost Hydran ships was destroyed during the Andromedan War.
(R9601) LORD GRENADIER COMMAND CRUISER (LGR) The flagship of the squadron commander that led the Hydrans into exile. It was modernized in Y130 and had 2 of its PH-2 replaced by PH-G in Y174. It was lost in year Y180.
(R9602) GRENADIER HEAVY CRUISER (GRN) A pair of these early CAs survived the War of Infamy. They were modernized in Y135 and Y140. After contact was made with the Hydran Kingdom, a + refit was applied in Y174. One of these ships was destroyed in Y176 by the Lyrans, the other was lost during the Andromedan Invasion in Y190.
(R9603) WANDERER LIGHT CRUISER (WAN) Two of theses early CLs were modernized in Y126 and Y145. After contact was made with the Hydran Kingdom, a + refit was applied in Y174. One of these ships was destroyed in Y177 by the Klingons, the other was scrapped after being badly damaged in Y196.
(R9604) SWORDSMAN DESTROYER (SWD) 3 of the early DDs survived the War of Infamy to be modernized between Y135 and Y145. After contact was made with the Hydran Kingdom, a + refit was applied in Y174. One of these ships was destroyed in Y176 by the Lyrans, the other two were lost during the Andromedan Invasion in Y188.
(R9605) VOLTIGEUR FRIGATE (VTG) A half-dozen of the early Hydran FFs survived to join the exodus into deep space. They were modernized between Y130 and Y155. After contact was made with the Hydran Kingdom, a + refit was applied in Y174. None of these ships survived the General War, the last being scrapped after receiving heavy damage in Y183.
(R9606) AUXILIARY CRUISER (ACA) A couple of large freighters were converted into warships in Y122 and Y126. Both survived until they were scrapped in Y200.
(R9607) LIGHT AUXILIARY CRUISER (ACL) Four small freighters were converted into warships from Y121-Y125. 2 were lost mysteriously, one in Y145, and the other in Y167. The remaining 2 ships were scrapped after the General War.
(R9608) AUXILIARY DESTROYER (ADD) Various freighters were converted into warships from Y123-Y128. Most of these were scrapped or returned to service by Y145. They were used for patrol and escort duty. 2 were still in service in this role in Y174.
(R9609) AUXILIARY FRIGATE (AFF) Six very small freighters (similar to the APT) were converted into small warships in Y122. These were used for patrol and escort. 4 were still in service at the start of the General War. The last of these was scrapped in Y202.
