New  (Lately Discovered)    Heights (A high position)    Christian  (A follower of Christ)    Fellowship (Companionship)

I have LATELY DISCOVERED my HIGH POSITION of being A FOLLOWER OF CHRIST in FELLOWSHIP with other believers at NEW HEIGHTS CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP CHURCH!

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”  Matthew 28:19-20

At N.H.C.F. we help people . . .

DECIDE -       Making life-changing commitments  to follow Jesus Christ.

DEVELOP - Growing spiritually in an intimate relationship with God through the power of the Holy Spirit.

DISCIPLE -   Modeling the teachings of Christ in our everyday lives through our relationships with people.

DEPLOY -      Empowering mature “Christ followers” to follow the dream God has given them to serve and build up the body of Christ.

What to expect at New Heights:

Casual atmosphere - people wear anything from suits to jeans.

Contemporary music - our live band leads the congregation in worship with many forms of music, from lively contemporary music to worship songs, praise choruses and hymns. Our approach is to use music to help people connect with God.

Fellowship - The "Garden of Eatin" after the service is a time of socializing with coffee and refreshments so that new guests have a chance to meet new friends.

Friendship - This is a very warm and friendly church that loves to welcome new guests and help them feel at home.

Purpose Statement

"A place to become the person God created me to be." 2 Corinthians 5:17
Our purpose is to pursue the Great Commandment that Jesus gave to the church through:

1.      Evangelism – Modeling and articulating the gospel Jesus taught to the world.

2.      Discipleship – Christians empowering Christians to grow spiritually in becoming more like Jesus and less like the world through modeling and communicating of biblical principles as outlines in the scriptures.

3.      Ministry – Equipping Christians to use their spiritual gifts to serve others locally and globally.

4.      Fellowship – Christians belonging to the church family through relationships, shared experiences, and accountability.

5.  Prayer – Agreeing with God that “his will be dome on earth as it is in heaven” through listening, receiving and verbalizing.
6.      Worship -  Honoring God through my thoughts, Words, and  actions on a daily basis.

7.  Love – To surprise the world with God’s lavish and gracious love.

THE END RESULT IN PURSUING AND ACCOMPLISHING THE FIRST SIX PURPOSES OF THE CHURCH IS TO PRODUCE “CHRIST FOLLOWERS” WHO

  1. Love the Lord, their God with all of their heart, soul, and mind.
  2. Love their neighbor as they love themselves.

VISION STATEMENT

To reach our young, unchurched community south of the river by utilizing new methods and approaches to doing ministry in the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. In seven years, our goal is to fill our church building to capacity by bringing people into a relationship with Jesus Christ and to plant at least one new church. As a church, we pray for and expect an eventual spiritual revival in which Christians obtain a new level of holiness, miracles are happening and the unchurched are saved.  When this happens all our goals and expectations may seem tiny in comparison.

Simply said, our vision/purpose as a church is to reach lost people with the “good news” and empower them to think, speak, and act more like Jesus.

OUR PHILOSPHY OF MINISTRY

It is our conviction that the Word of God cannot and should not be changed, manipulated or distorted from its original meaning.  The mission of the church has always been to reach the lost and make committed disciples of them – who turn around and reach others for Christ and disciple them.  Therefore we believe that ministry should always be reproducible.  Jesus modeled that strategy when he chose the twelve disciples and mentored them in applying the word of god to their lives.  The Word of God, mission of the church and “reproducible model” should not be changed.

The only thing that can and should be changed on a regular basis are the methods and strategies we use to accomplish the purpose and vision god has given us.  We as a church recognize that we can only evangelize and disciple today’s generation by being culturally relevant.  This calls for doing ministry in “new wine skins” (Mark 2:21-23).  We do not believe in change for change sake – but only in the following the direction in which the Holy Spirit is leading us to go (1 Corinthians 9:19-23).  In the process of change, we vow not to confuse biblical principles with methods, techniques and strategies.  Programs and styles of music are not sacred and can be changed; the Word of God is sacred and should never be changed (Hebrews 13:8)

OUR PERSPECTIVE

We are culturally relevant church who seeks to win this generation to Christ and disciple them.  While using new methods and techniques to accomplish the vision God has given us as a church; we do not trust in these to bring about the ultimate results.  Only God…Only God!  Therefore we emphasize the spiritual disciplines of praying, fasting, and obeying the word of God as our foundation for fulfilling the vision and purpose God has given us as a church.

We believe that our church will experience a spiritual revival in which believers have a deeper thirst for holiness, commitment to the things of god and where unbelievers will come to know Jesus.  We expect to see an outpouring of the Holy Spirit evidenced by miracles and people healed spiritually, emotionally and physically.  Our mission is to help people become the person god created them to be – a whole person, lacking nothing in Christ.  This will happen as Christians discover who they really are and what they really have in Christ.  We aim to be people who are ready for the coming revival God brings our way as we show ourselves to be faithful by being obedient and walking in fellowship with Him!
