GOD IS OMNISCIENT– ALL KNOWING

October 5, 2008 ~ Pastor Mike Barnett

GOD IS OMNISCIENT – HE IS ALL KNOWING

·        God posses all knowledge there is to have. Nothing ever takes him by surprise.

·        God knows all there is to know about us.

·        However, the knowledge of our past or future does not influence his present response to us.

·        God always deals with us on the basis of our sincerity in the present now.

·        We can fool ourselves

·        We can fool others

·        But we cannot fool God

Job 21:22-26 says:

22 "Can anyone teach knowledge to God,
       since he judges even the highest?

Isaiah 40:10-15 (pg. 511)

10 See, the Sovereign LORD comes with power,
       and his arm rules for him.
       See, his reward is with him,
       and his recompense accompanies him.

 11 He tends his flock like a shepherd:
       He gathers the lambs in his arms
       and carries them close to his heart;
       he gently leads those that have young.

 12 Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand,
       or with the breadth of his hand marked off the heavens?
       Who has held the dust of the earth in a basket,
       or weighed the mountains on the scales
       and the hills in a balance?

 13 Who has understood the mind [d] of the LORD,
       or instructed him as his counselor?

 14 Whom did the LORD consult to enlighten him,
       and who taught him the right way?
       Who was it that taught him knowledge
       or showed him the path of understanding?

 15 Surely the nations are like a drop in a bucket;
       they are regarded as dust on the scales;
       he weighs the islands as though they were fine dust.

Psalm 139:1-5 says:

1 O LORD, you have searched me
       and you know me.

 2 You know when I sit and when I rise;
       you perceive my thoughts from afar.

 3 You discern my going out and my lying down;
       you are familiar with all my ways.

 4 Before a word is on my tongue
       you know it completely, O LORD.

 5 You hem me in—behind and before;
       you have laid your hand upon me.

 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
       too lofty for me to attain.

Hebrews 4:13 says:

13Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

1 John 3:20 says:

20whenever our hearts condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.

·        If God is all knowing and He lives in me, then why am I confused sometimes?

REASONS FOR BEING CONFUSED:

1. I am not reading my Bible nor spending time with God in prayer and meditation.

2. My mind is over active and I am not disciplining my thoughts.

3. I am listening to many voices.

4. I am not connected to God’s spirit.

5. I am overextended and tired

6  I am in a hurry.

TO RECEIVE GOD’S DIVINE KNOWLEDGE AND WISDOM:

1) RECOGNIZE THAT GOD’S WISDOM IS VERY CLOSE TO YOU – THE HOLY SPIRIT_______________(WITHIN) HAS THE KNOWLEDGE/WISDOM YOU SEEK.

John 14:25-26 says:

 25"All this I have spoken while still with you. 26But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

2) ________(ASK) GOD FOR THE WISDOM THAT IS ALREADY _____________(INSIDE) YOU THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT.

James 1:1-8 says:

5If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; 8he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.

3) CONTINUE TO HAVE DAILY ____________(QUIET) _____________(TIMES) WITH GOD CONSISTING OF PRAYER, BIBLE STUDY AND MEDITATION.

4) BE __________(STILL) AND ___________(QUIET) SO YOU CAN HEAR THE SPIRIT SPEAK WITHIN YOU.

Psalm 46:10 says:

10 "Be still, and know that I am God;
       I will be exalted among the nations,
       I will be exalted in the earth."

5) IN FAITH, VERBALLY _____________(DECREE) THAT YOU HAVE _______________(RECEIVED) THE WISDOM/KNOWLEDGE YOU SEEK BY REPEATING SOMETHING LIKE “GOD, I THANK YOU THAT YOUR WISDOM GUIDES ME IN ALL MY WAYS AND YOU ALWAYS SEE TO IT THAT I TAKE THE RIGHT PATH IN THE ROAD”.

Job 22:21-30 (pg. 372) says:

21Submit to God and be at peace with him;
       in this way prosperity will come to you.

 22 Accept instruction from his mouth
       and lay up his words in your heart.

 23 If you return to the Almighty, you will be restored:
       If you remove wickedness far from your tent

 24 and assign your nuggets to the dust,
       your gold of Ophir to the rocks in the ravines,

 25 then the Almighty will be your gold,
       the choicest silver for you.

 26 Surely then you will find delight in the Almighty
       and will lift up your face to God.

 27 You will pray to him, and he will hear you,
       and you will fulfill your vows.

 28 What you decide on will be done,
       and light will shine on your ways.

 29 When men are brought low and you say, 'Lift them up!'
       then he will save the downcast.

 30 He will deliver even one who is not innocent,
       who will be delivered through the cleanness of your hands."

6) AFTER YOU HAVE SPENT CONSIDERABLE TIME WITH GOD ALONE, HUMBLE YOURSELF AND ASK WISE, ________________(MATURE) CHRISTIANS FOR WISDOM – LOOK FOR __________________(EXPERTS) IN THE AREA YOU NEED WISDOM IN.

·        Have a counsel of advisors you can run your ideas by before you act on them.

Proverbs 15:21-25 (pg. 459) says:

21 Folly delights a man who lacks judgment,
       but a man of understanding keeps a straight course.

 22 Plans fail for lack of counsel,
       but with many advisers they succeed.

 23 A man finds joy in giving an apt reply—
       and how good is a timely word!

 24 The path of life leads upward for the wise
       to keep him from going down to the grave. [a]

 25 The LORD tears down the proud man's house
       but he keeps the widow's boundaries intact.

7) BE _________________(PATIENT) IN THE PROCESS - NEVER MAKE DECISIONS WHEN YOU ARE ____________________(DESPARATE) OR EMOTIONALLY _______________(DOWN).

8) BE ____________________(COMFORTABLE) WITH _______ - ______________(NON ACTION) UNTIL GOD GIVES YOU THE WISDOM YOU SEEK.

9) SOMETIMES KNOWING THAT GOD KNOWS IS _________________(ENOUGH) TO SOOTH OUR ANZIETY – “ALTHOUGH WE MAY NOT KNOW WHAT TOMMOROW HOLDS, WE KNOW THE ONE WHO HOLDS TOMMORROW”!

10) ONCE YOU THINK YOU HAVE HEARD FROM GOD, RUN IT BY YOUR _________________(COUNSEL) OF _________________(ADVISORS) AGAIN TO MAKE SURE YOU HEARD FROM GOD.

Who should be on your counsel of advisors?

11) ONCE THE SPIRIT REVEALS THE WISDOM YOU SEEK, _____________(PURSUE) IT WITH ALL YOUR HEAT IMMEDIATELY – TAKE ACTION WITHOUT HESTIATION!

12)______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
