CRY OF THE WOLF Stats

Hero: Reed Hunter - small town newspaper reporter

Heroine: Jewel Smith - shapeshifter (wolf) - Former wife of a mobster
who informed on her own ex-husband and who has a contract on her head.

Dear Reader,

Though the closest I ever come to being around wolves is romping with my two Miniature Schnauzers, Cry of the Wolf is a story very close to my heart.  The abuse and battering of women has reached epidemic proportions in the U.S. and many people don't quite understand the low self-esteem which is a result of such constant belittlement.  I do. A lifetime ago, I too was involved in such a relationship and I also blamed myself.  Convinced for several years it was all my fault "after all," as he'd said, "if I'd been a better wife he wouldn't have had to hit me" I finally pulled myself up from the floor and left.  Somehow, despite the death threats and the stalking, I was able to move on and make a new life - the same as Jewel fights to in Cry.  I hope you enjoy her story as she moves towards her own new beginning with Colton Reynolds, hoping for a life full of happiness - exactly like the one I now enjoy.

Sincerely,

Karen Whiddon
