THE MEETING WILL BE THURSDAY, JULY 19, AT THE FIELD!!!

PRESIDENT'S CHATTER

IN MEMORIAM

The club needs volunteers.  I have a few things that need to be done, and I need the help of a couple of people to get them done.  One is to repaint the sign near the road.  We also have to make other signs.  Please call or E-mail me for details.  We also need volunteers for the events, both cooking and clean up.

I'm sorry to say it, but I need to get on the soapbox.  Someone is leaving their trash behind.  The transmitter tray that is located under the frequency board IS NOT a place to leave your paper towels and broken props.  Take ALL of your trash WITH YOU.  This includes the CIGARETTE BUTTS.  When you drop it on the ground, someone else has to pick it up.  Either take your butts with you, or we will have to ban smoking at the field.  Also, with the grass being so dry, a burning cigarette could cause a fire.  If we have a fire out there, we could lose our field.

It sure has been hot so far this summer.  Please take plenty of water with you, and don't forget the sunscreen.  Avoid the heat of the day by flying in the morning or evening.

I have heard of a few "HITS" out at the field.  The thing that I have noticed is that the antenna being held level with the ground.  This is not a good practice.  Hold the antenna at a 30 to 45 degree from the ground, and do NOT aim the tip of the antenna towards the plane.
