On Tuesday evening, February 5, 2008, we were getting ready to sit down and have dinner. We had been expecting rain, and sure enough, it came. Lots of rain. LOTS. Pretty good lightning and thunder show as well. We lost power for about 20 minutes. It came back on, the rain subsided, and all was well. So we thought. With Directv, we only get news from New York or Los Angeles, so we never really know what is going on locally. Heard on the radio the following morning about a bit of wind in Highland. So, we decided to go and see what the fuss was about. The following pictures were taken the morning of Wednesday, February 6, 2008. We drove south on the 4-lane, then turned around and did the drive going north. Took pictures both ways to give more perspective. Also, we were not allowed to stop. Had to keep moving.
